Getting COVID-19 Vaccination Is Open to the Acupuncturists

An online Appointment will be Required to Get the COVID-19 Vaccine shot

Making an appointment to get the first shot of COVID-19 vaccination is possible for an acupuncturist in California.

Currently, acupuncturists are classified as Tier 3 in Phase 1, and all professionals in Phase 1 can make an appointment online before visiting a vaccination site.

  • Professionals have belonged in Phase 1, which are Persons at risk of exposure to SARS-CoV-2 through their work in any role in direct health care or long-term care settings.

           This population includes persons at immediate risk of exposure in their non-clinical roles, such as, but not limited to, environmental services, patient transport, or interpretation.

  • Residents of skilled nursing facilities assisted living facilities, and similar long-term care settings for older or medically vulnerable individuals.

And Phase 1 is divided into 3 Tiers. Acupuncturists are in Tier 3 with chiropractors and dental-related professionals.

Making an appointment for vaccination is only through visiting either County of Los Angeles Public Health website, publichealth.lacounty.gov/acd/ncorona2019/vaccine/hcwsignup/pods/, Carbon Health, which is providing primary and urgent care, website carbonhealth.com/covid-19-vaccines. Also, CVS provides COVID-19 vaccination in stores.

The vaccination sites are Magic Mountain, LA County Office of Education, CAL State University, Northridge for drive-through and others are not offering drive through system. For more information of location and certain restrictions will be found on the County of Los Angeles Public Health website.
