The eight ‘Liao’ points that also are called as the Root Qi Place and are located on the sacrum take role to balance and enhance all Qi movements. The eight ‘Liao’ points take control of the Qi movement in the Root Qi Place. The eight ‘Liao’ points have the power to enhance Qi circulation by pulling down the stagnated heat from top to bottom and pushing stagnated coldness from the feet to the head. Also, the parasympathetic nerves are densely located on the sacrum area. Therefore, stimulating the eight ‘Liao’ points helps a patient feel more comfortable and help fall asleep at night.

The eight ‘Liao’ point could be applied for urologic and gynecologic symptoms such as erectile dysfunction, prostate enlargement, bladder infection, piles, discharge, irregular menstruation, menstrual pain, lower back pain, and boosting overall energy by helping digestion.

Also, symptoms in the pelvic cavity such as cystitis and hemorrhoid could be treated using eight ‘Liao’ points. The points help to make stronger digestion and lower body, therefore, it could generate more energy. Especially, the Lower Qi Place control technique can be applied to various symptoms found in the lower body, such as lower back pain.

As the eight ‘Liao’ points are applied to treatment, it is allowed to use only six points of ‘Liao’ points that are distinctively shown instead of all eight ‘Liao’ points. But all six points should be penetrated by acupuncture needles thoroughly to expect maximum treatment effects.

Applying 4 Main Energy Sources

A fundamental function of the 4 Main Energy Sources is moderating all Qi movements throughout the body. So symptoms generated by an imbalance or Qi stagnation such as various aftereffects of the stroke and paralysis.

Qi stagnation in the scapula area usually causes symptoms like shoulder pain, hypertension, stroke, and cerebral blood circulation-related diseases. In general, the elders or people exposed to an unusual amount of stress for a prolonged period cause the center of Qi to move to the upper body. Pathogenic movement of the center of Qi should be controlled by applying the Upper Main Energy Sources with the Root Qi Place.

The Lower Main Energy Source is used to treat lower back pain, sciatica, prostate enlargement, and various symptoms in the urinogenital organs. The Lower Main Energy Source is also used for psychological symptoms because the Lower Main Energy Source can act as a tranquilizer.

It would help if you kept a few things in mind for using the upper and lower Main Energy Source. You cannot use the Upper and Lower Main Energy Source together because using Main Energy Source generates enormous Qi movement that could damage the whole system. The last is whenever the Upper or Lower Main Energy Source is applied for a treatment, the Root Qi Place, also known as the eight ‘Liao’ points, must be used. The acupuncture needle insertion technique must be penetrated deep enough to pass either the underneath of the scapula or the iliac bones. It should be careful not to hurt vital orang as a practitioner inserting needles.
