The acupuncturist job market is expected to grow by 13.3% between 2016 and 2026.

Over the next ten years, it is expected the US will need 8,500 acupuncturists. That number is based on 7,500 additional acupuncturists and the retirement of 1,000 existing acupuncturists, according to CareerExploror.

Factors such as more Americans get familiar with acupuncture treatment, and more insurance companies offer coverage for treatments that make the job market sustainable.

The baggiest job markets for acupuncturists are concentrated in Maryland, California, and Florida. The numbers of employed acupuncturists in Maryland are 5,510, California 3,930, and Florida 2,700. Medium-sized job markets are in Georgia (2,400), New York (2,190), and Illinois (2,070).

The average salary for an employed acupuncturist is around a yearly salary of $73,960, and wages typically start from $40,910 and go up to $141,330. Wage range is $40,910 for bottom 20%, $74,000 for median, $141,330 for top 20%.

The highest salary could earn in Maryland (average $136,660), and the lowest average salary is reported in North Dakota ($44,300).
